Privacy notice

For the website oppimi.ai · Last updated: 24 October 2026

This notice explains how we handle personal data when you visit oppimi.ai or write to us. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies to visitors in the European Union, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The Oppimi app has its own privacy notice and consent, shown before a family or school starts using it.

Who is responsible

Elisa Calgaro, Efeuweg 18, 4103 Bottmingen, Switzerland, is responsible for processing your data on this website. Oppimi is not yet a registered company; this notice will be updated when it is. For any privacy question or request, write to info@oppimi.org.

What this website does not do

  • No analytics or tracking tools, no advertising, no social media plug-ins.
  • No cookies.
  • No forms, accounts or payments on this website.
  • No external fonts or scripts: every file is served from our own hosting.

Data processed when you visit

When you open a page, our hosting provider automatically processes technical data so that the page can be delivered and protected: your IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser type and operating system. These server logs are used only for operation and security, are not combined with other data, and are deleted after a short period set by the hosting provider.

Legal basis under the GDPR: our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Hosting

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., San Francisco, United States, which delivers it through servers in several countries. Netlify processes the technical data above on our behalf. Data may therefore be transferred to the United States and other countries. We rely on the safeguards the law provides for such transfers, such as the Swiss–U.S. and EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or standard contractual clauses.

Settings saved in your browser

If you switch between light and dark mode, the website remembers your choice in your own browser (local storage). It is never sent to us, and you can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

The writing demo on the Science page

Anything you write in the live demo is processed only inside your browser to draw it and calculate the measures shown. It is not saved, not sent to us or to anyone else, and is gone when you leave or reload the page.

When you write to us

If you email us, for example at info@oppimi.org, we use your name, email address and message only to answer you and to follow up on your request (for example, a school asking for access). We keep it as long as needed for that purpose and as required by law.

Legal basis under the GDPR: steps prior to a contract or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).

Children

This website is written for parents, teachers and partners. It does not collect any data about children. Children's data is processed only in the Oppimi app, under the app's own privacy notice and with a parent's or school's consent.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time for information about the data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Under the GDPR you can also restrict or object to processing and ask for your data in a portable format. Write to info@oppimi.org.

You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, edoeb.admin.ch); in the EU, the authority in your country.

Changes

We will update this notice when our website or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
